William Taylor Wears was born in Tynemouth, Northumberland on the 12th September 1922, his father, Albert Edward Wears BEM, was aged 24 and his mother, Lizzie Jane Taylor, was 22. He married Mary Wilcock on 24 October 1942 in Northumberland. He served in the Royal Navy during the 2nd World War. He had ten children in 24 years. He died on 26 September 1978 in Northumberland at the age of 56.
